About The Wine

Our wine is made in small batch oak fermenters, basket pressed, and aged entirely in new French oak for a minimum of 24 months.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard is located at the base of Spring Mountain, in St. Helena. We combine this fruit with a few other select vineyards based on quality, location, and compatibility.

Hand sorting, and gentle treatment in all processes from fermentation, to bottling, ensures the wine will reach the bottle as a pristine expression of the fruit and appellation.

The 2004 Vintage was made at Vineyard 29 in St Helena. Bottled in October of 2006, it is available for release in February of 2007. Robert Parker has rated this wine 91 points. He is quoted; “ deep ruby/purple color is followed by vivid aromas of wild mountain flowers and berry fruit. It is beautifully delineated and structured with moderate tannins. It will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age” Only limited quantities of this vintage will be available.

Our 2005 and 2006 were made at Hundred Acre Winery in St. Helena. They are now aging in new French Oak. These are phenomenal wines. Extremely well balanced and structured. You will want these for your cellar. Check for updates in the future on tasting notes and release dates.

About Our WineMaker

HELEN MAWSON

Born and raised in Manawatu New Zealand, Helen studied at the Auckland School of Art in New Zealand before venturing into her career in the Wine industry. Her first “cellar” job was with Montana Wines in Auckland. She worked at various estate wines around New Zealand including Church Road in Hawkes Bay.

In 1998 Helen came to California to pursue her career in Wine in the Napa Valley. Her first job in California was working the harvest and cellar at Joseph Phelps Vineyards. She then moved to Miner Winery and eventually became the lab assistant, and then Miners chief enologist.

In 2002 Helen was hired on as assistant winemaker for Vineyard 29 working directly with Philippe Melka at the Winery.

Helen became our principal winemaker for WINTER in 2004

She currently is working as our winemaker and assistant winemaker to Jayson Woodbridge at Hundred Acre.
